Umbrellas by the stream

Umbrellas by the stream in Khardi village

Reminded me of my grandparents. I recall from my childhood days in Chennai, two figures sitting in the kitchen, with the yellow light from the bulb making their hair seem golden, sipping on morning tea and chatting in low voices while the rest of the household still slept peacefully. I used to always wonder what they talked about.

An amazing photo that’s a metaphor and an exquisite poem wonderfully made for each other, great to see, great to read
And you know what, the lines can stand by themselves-very evocative and pictorial…
On a lighter note, one could just as well see your grandparents sitting in the invisible foreground of the scene you have captured (elbowing out the photographer), in the middle of one of those numerous, spontaneous picnics that just happen..
the brollies being so chirpy and and the scene so bright..:-)
