Anahinga or Indian Darter at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

With colours and shapes that match their habitat, animals are masters at the art of camouflage. Despite being such a large bird, this Anahinga was not too easy to spot at Keoladeo National Park (earlier called Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary).

  1. Great capture, Vibha. I too have a picture of darter bird from Bharatpur but the one I have captured is merely a silhouette. 🙂

      Thanks, Umashankar. Given that I’m not a regular bird watcher, I had to spend quite some time identifying the birds we saw.
      Did you know there are 3 kinds of cormorants in India? Am having fun with the next post – should be up soon.
