The Cat – Container of Wisdom.
Cats are generally quite wise animals. My favorite book of all time is ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the character I absolutely adore is the Cheshire Cat.
All it said made so much sense. Don’t you think its quotes are a witty acknowledgment of the craziness in our world?
Two of my favorites –
1. ‘Only a few find the way, some don’t recognize it when they do – some… don’t ever want to.
2. “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where –” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“– so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

You make a fabulous point. Alice in Wonderland has more to offer than meets the eye. 😀
It’s profound. Questions so much of adult logic…which is what adds to the allure of the book in the eyes of a child I guess. 😉
I’ve heard talk Alice wasn’t really meant for children. o_O ??
So have I. But, I read it as a child and even though I might not have got the satire and the deeper thoughts there, it sure was fun even then! 🙂
I agree. 😀
Lovely shot of the cat – yours?? And interesting bringing Alice into the response – nicely done!
Thanks for the appreciation. Nope, the cat isn’t mine. We were visiting Hampi, a temple town in Karnataka (post link – http://pixelvoyages.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/hampi-the-open-air-museum-of-the-vijayanagar-empire/) and my daughter saw this very cute specimen. She wanted to cuddle it, so we had this photo stop. 😉
Lovey click 🙂
Thanks Rupam.
sweet cat, everytime i walk around india , rare to see cat roam around , usualy just dog , cow and crow 🙂
It was the cutest kitty. There are quite a few cats around but as is their nature, they will slink away on seeing us rather than come running the way dogs do. If you want to get friendly with the felines, just visit a fish market 😉
