UPDATE – This post is updated for revised visa fee for Indian visitors to Thailand and for information on new visa processing centres set up by VFS in Western India.
The visa fees for Indian visitors has been reinstated from Sept.1, 2017 and you now have to pay INR 2,000 for a single entry tourist visa when applying beforehand or THB 2,000 (approx INR 4,000) for a visa on arrival. If you’re applying through VFS or CKGS, the processing fees is INR 260 rupees per person in Mumbai.
For a limited period till 31 August 2017, Indian travellers to Thailand could get a visa free of cost and even the visa on arrival fee had been halved to 1000 Thai Baht.
Most people would prefer the visa on arrival as it’s convenient, but if you save around 1,700 rupees per person by getting the visa before leaving, it could go a long way in Thailand. So make sure you apply for visas beforehand.
Here is the lowdown on all you need or want to know about Thai visas in general and for Indians in particular.
